Friday Year Group Finish Times

Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s),

As you are already aware, we have taken the decision to close school early every Friday to enable us to carry out a weekly Covid clean. Like last Friday, we will stagger the finish times for each year group to keep everyone as safe as possible and maintain social distancing on site. Children will have their lunch before they leave: if they normally bring a packed lunch, please send them with this as normal.

Please see year groups’ finish times for Fridays:

Reception – 12:45pm
Year 1 – 1pm
Year 2 – 1pm
Year 3 – 12:30pm
Year 4 – 12:45pm
Year 5 – 12:30pm
Year 6 – 1pm

We thank you for your continued support.

Face Masks

Dear Parents/Carers

We need your help to keep everyone safe. From Thursday 1st October 2020, please could all adults entering our site wear a mask. Your co-operation in this is appreciated. Thank you.

Mr. Mason-Edwards

New Open Times on Fridays

Dear Parents/ Carers

As you know, school has closed this afternoon to allow for a thorough, deep clean of the premises that will supplement our daily thorough cleaning. During COVID-19 times, this is going to be a regular necessity. I am writing to you today to inform you that for the foreseeable future, school will close every Friday afternoon, from 1:00 pm, to allow this additional cleaning to take place.

I understand that this will inconvenience many of you. I do regret this. Given that COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease, I feel that we have no choice.

I will, of course, regularly review this situation. I hope to return to ‘normal’ school opening times as soon as is possible.

You should have received a letter by email with all the details.

Early Closure Tomorrow

Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s),

We have taken the decision to close school early tomorrow, Friday 25th September. We will stagger the finish times for each year group to keep everyone as safe as possible in order to maintain social distancing on site. Children will have their lunch before they leave: if they normally bring a packed lunch, please send them with this as normal.

We have decided to do this as a safety precaution so we can do a deep clean of the school building following the recent confirmed cases of Covid-19 within our school community.

Please see year groups finish times for tomorrow below:

Reception – 11.45am
Year 1 – 12pm
Year 2 – 12.15pm
Year 3 – 12,45pm
Year 4 – 12.45pm
Year 5 – 1pm
Year 6 – 12.30pm

I would like to apologise for the short notice and inconvenience this may cause, however, the safety of our community is our main priority.

We thank you for your continued support.

School Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today we have had to send home our Y2 bubble (all 3 classes) as one of our children in that bubble has tested positive for Covid-19. These children and staff have been instructed to stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days. Parents may need time off work to look after their children whilst at home. If places of work need verification of this then please ask them to email me: head@peelpark.bradford.sch.uk

Some parents have asked which class the child is in but this is irrelevant as the children have been mixing and playing together as one bubble - just assume they are in your child’s class.

Brothers or sisters of children in Y2 do not have to stay at home or self-isolate UNLESS they begin to show symptoms of Covid-19. They should continue to come to school as per the Government guidelines.

Y2 pupils with younger siblings at home, such as very small babies, should not worry unnecessarily. As we all know, Covid-19 is much more likely to make the older population ill and far, far less likely to affect children and babies.

However, if anyone in your household develops symptoms of Covid19 then please feel free to call 111 and/or book them a Covid19 test online or by calling 119.

Thank you to all those parents/carers who collected their Y2 child and thanked us for doing our best for looking after them and going over and above Government guidelines in terms of protective measures and our cleaning routines.

Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.

Mr Mason-Edwards.

Help Needed

Good evening families of Peel Park.

I hope you are all well and healthy.

A request for help.

We have a family who are in desperate need of chilled and/or frozen food items such as bread, cheese, yoghurts, chips, veg, pizza etc to feed their 4 children as they are still struggling with the effects of the pandemic. They are a non-Muslim family so non-halal items such as ham are fine too.

If any of you can bring some items in tomorrow I can sanitise them and then deliver them to their house. Please leave donations of food at the main entrance between the sliding doors.

This is a genuine appeal as I know the family well.

We can also exchange donations of money for shopping vouchers for them.

Please share.

Thank you in advance.

Mr Mason-Edwards.

Important Tik Tok Warning

We have been made aware that there was a very distressing video posted on TikTok early this week (not linked to school in anyway) that all users would have been able to see. Please check that you know which social media apps your child has access to and make sure that you know what they are watching and who they are talking to. TikTok has an age guidance of 13 years. For further support, have a look at the e-safety page on our website.
