We believe that our pupils deserve an ambitious and inclusive mathematics curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge with the opportunity to communicate their knowledge. Our mathematics curriculum will give students the opportunity to achieve their personal best. We understand that maths ability is not innate, but rather, increased through effort and hard work. Using the Mathematics Mastery approach everyone can achieve their ambitions, in later life. To achieve this, we provide opportunities for our pupils to do the following:
Become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, through regular and targeted practice with increasingly complex problems, so that pupils develop conceptual understanding and the ability to recall and apply knowledge quickly and correctly.
Reason and problem solve daily and deepen their understanding through using mathematical language as justification.
Develop their resilience, confidence and independence, so that they contribute positively to life both inside and outside of the school gates
