EYFS and Key Stage 1
Pupils in EYFS and Key Stage 1 are introduced to simple French vocabulary through engaging songs, rhymes, and repetitive language activities. They will have exposure to vocabulary for greetings, colours and numbers through daily routines and musical activities.
Through rhymes and storytelling, pupils begin to recognise and repeat key words. They are encouraged to join in with repeated refrains, copying pronunciation and rhythm in a fun and supportive environment.
Learning is delivered through movement, music, and play, enabling pupils to build confidence in speaking aloud and develop an early awareness of another language and culture.
