At Peel Park, we passionately believe in providing your children with the best learning opportunities, building a solid foundation for their future journey. We want them to aspire to achieve and reach their full potential.
STEM learning is fun and ‘hands-on’! It focuses on teaching skills and knowledge that will be beneficial to a career in a STEM subject: teaching is relevant and realistic, engaging pupils to apply their learning and problem-solving skills to real-world problems. It also offers opportunities for children to learn about topics and skills that could have an impact upon their future in terms of career choices.
Children are encouraged to work cooperatively, encouraging creativity and building confidence. This also develops leadership qualities - children are required to work and communicate with many different personalities, so being able to navigate through a project where others may have opposing ideas and different skill sets will be invaluable for their future.
Activities include a bespoke ‘Careers Week’, including many Bradfordians who are eager to encourage the next generation to aspire to reach their full potential. We strive to challenge stereotypes and try to represent the diversity of our school community. ‘British Science Week’ and ‘Women in Engineering’ are also some of the other events we celebrate, along with termly, whole school, STEM challenges.
In the future, we are hoping to further develop our relationship with Bradford University, and proudly watch as some of our students graduate from ‘Children’s University’. Watch this space!
As you can see, we have been very busy!
