SEND

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Peel Park

We firmly believe that all children should be given the opportunity to attend their local primary school.  With this in mind we recognise that there are times when a child needs specialist teaching and/or support to make sure they can access the curriculum and make the progress they are capable of.

Here at Peel Park we do NOT try to fit 'a round peg into a square hole' when it comes to our children and their needs.  To ensure ALL children feel included and are treated fairly we alter our teaching and approach to education in order to ensure progress and inclusion.

Mrs Sara Hunt (Assistant Headteacher & SENDCo) is our responsible member of staff for SEND and she sits on the Senior Leadership Team.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this area of school then please contact her on the school number, or email her at: shunt@peelpark.bradford.sch.uk

Bradford Local Offer

Local authorities must publish a Local Offer, setting out in one place information about provision that is available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have special educational needs or are disabled, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The Local Offer has two key purposes:

1) To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it;

2) To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disabled children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review.
